Update a Specialty

Updates the specialty information for the given ID on your custom Index Version. Any parameters not provided will be left unchanged.

Returns the updated Specialty object if a valid ID and body parameters were provided or an error otherwise.

taxonomy_code

The NUCC Healthcare Provider Taxonomy code.

classification

“Level II, Classification” of the taxonomy code. Ex: "Internal Medicine”, “Dermatology”.

specialization

“Level III, Area of Specialization” of the taxonomy code. If there’s no area of specialization, we use the classification. Ex: “Gastroenterology”, “Internal Medicine”, “Dermatopathology”.

non_standard_classification

For specialties that don’t fit in the NUCC-defined taxonomy, you can use the non_standard fields and leave the other fields empty. Ex: Dermatology and Cosmetic Dermatology.
